Hawkules is one of those companions who can be built many different ways and still excel to their highest potential. To start, give him Relentless 3 - you will see it activating much more, and a full chain of Relentless can be a game changer. As for his final Epic, you can either give him Cheap Shot, Flanking, or an additional tier of Vengeance Strike.
Cheap Shot is a bit situational, but if you feel like it will activate frequently enough for you, feel free to train it on him - it may even set off a Relentless Chain! Flanking is very similar, except you control it. By placing all of your units efficiently, it may just activate every turn. For some players, the having Flanking on Hawkules is only to set off Relentless, as the initial Flanking hit may be a bit underwhelming. Additionally, you would have two chances to set it off - his normal hit, and his Flanking hit! Finally, Vengeance Strike 2 is another great option. If melee units charge at him, he will be able to strike back constantly, which can add up with all of the Vengeance Strikes he will use. Train on him whatever works best for your strategy, and you will see Hawkules taking down enemies easily!
