Argos is a great companion due to him being the exact same companion as Hawkules, minus a single Epic. He can train Relentless 3, so you're only missing out on an Epic such as Cheap Shot, Flanking, or another tier of Vengeance Strike, which aren't too exceptional by themselves, aside from them being great ways to activate Relentless chains. Therefore, build him with Relentless 3 and aim for units with fairly low health. He will be able to take them out more efficiently, as Relentless 3 activates more often on enemies who are wounded.
His Turn the Tide is certainly helpful, and a cool trick is that, when he's at less than half health, use Valor's Armor on him rather than healing him. That way, he won't be able to take damage for a couple of turns and his Turn the Tide will still be effective! To get his Turn the Tide active, you may want to bring him into the fight quickly and generate some threat on him. It's better to have the enemies attacking an enemy who can tank and benefits from having low health rather than a fragile unit, like Swashbucklers or possibly Musketeers. He's a great addition to your Privateer's crew, and, if you're not a Privateer and are looking for a strictly offensive companion to invest him, Argos is definitely for you.
