Fin is a fairly good Crown Shop companion - he can train Relentless 2, allowing him to deal plenty of damage to opposing enemies. Having Repel Boarders helps, too, as it can trigger multiple Relentless attacks against approaching enemies. Purchasing him on a Buccaneer may result in Fin being more effective, as you can buff his strength, and, in turn, his Relentless from activating more frequently. Buying him on a Witchdoctor works well too, though you would have to be standing right next to him in order to efficiently buff his strength with your Juju powers.
It's also worth taking into consideration the level of depth recruiting him would add to your crew. While you may already have several villains who went through a change of heart, Fin was your enemy since the beginning, though now seeks a better path on your crew.
